Title: Top mount question

Ok guys fitting my front coilovers tomoz and just putting them all together ready as I have powerflex top mounts and bearings my question is is the top mount surpose to bolt on the strut as I've put the bolt in done it up then you can pull the top mount off by hand is this rite guys sorry never fitted any before and the how to guide doesn't say anything about it

The top mount goes on top of the strut yes, along with the bearing, but not bolted down, they won't get bolted down until under the car and the top of the strut poking out of the top of the car.

Yer loads cheers buddy makes sense now I found out the oem one is bolted down but doesn't need it that's what threw me lol cheers for your help mate :)

doesn't sound right to me at all.

The top mount should be fixed securely to the top of the strut. If it isn't, you're doing it wrong.

Above the top spring cap, you need the top mount bearing, then followed by the top mount, then the first retaining nut which holds it all on.

Then it goes up into the arch and through the turret, and the top cap goes on under the bonnet, followed by the second retaining nut.

I tried that mate but the hole in the powerflex top mount is to big for the nut that I got with my coilovers so just goes threw buddy so your saying that I need to take apart my old strut to get the flanged bolt off and re use that ?
