Title: Time for timing belt change??

Hi all,

My car is coming up to the 4 yr mark in a couple of months, had just taken it for a service and was going to book it in for a timing belt change. The guy at VW said that because my car was an '09 plate I don't need to do this for another year as VW have changed the timing intervals from 4 to every 5 years for all '09 cars and newer...

Is this true? I've never heard of this before!

It is low mileage, but I'd still want peace of mind and I'd have it done. I hadn't heard that VW had changed the requirements for the cam belt change either! :undecided:
