i think you use a vr6 housing with the actual sensor itself put into the vr6 housing

This.

You will obv need some bigger hoses to and from airbox etc.

I've allready got a 3" K04 tip waiting to go on when I finally finish building my hybrid. Does the aug maf sensor fit straight into the vr6 housing or is a bit of modification needed?

For you I think it is mate yes. AGU MAF elements won't fit in them

the vr6 MAF needs to be from an OBD II car, early OBD I housings won't work.

AGU or VR6 sensor is fine, whichever is in better health, same part.

This is AGU only info though, as the sensor bolts are 90 degrees different to later AUM/AUQ stuff, which require S3/LCR/TT MAF housings for larger turbos :)

Also some of the sensors inside a tt one are the same bosch part numbers, as I found out on my aqu / bam sensors

Im sure theres a difference between ME7.5 sensors.  050 and 059 sensors...narrow and wideband.

Dont ask me for a techy know-how tho.
