I've got an interview for a promotion next week. Absolutely terrified. Best opportunity to come along in the last 10 years for me and there's 4 roles available country wide.
Panicking is an understatement! :undecided:
-
Don't be a girl thingy and just get on with it.
If they are giving you the opportunity gain the position then they obviously think you got what it takes, you just need to make your case better than the other interviewees.

be honest - if ya dont now, just say.
Then just imagine the interview panel say there in stockings and suspenders
if its all male - you will be laughing inside and will relax
if its a female - then hope she is fit :smug:

Just be calm, take your time, think about the answers and ask questions!
I was a bag of nerves a few months ago when I went for my first interview in 7 years. After 5 I had 3 job offers!
Good luck in the interview!

Yeah good luck fella, I know it's always easier said than done but you have a benefit here, its an interview in the same company. Could be worse, you could be job hunting and having interviews with a company you know naff all about. You'll kick yourself afterwards. Its obviously your time, take the opportunity, I did, twice. Been at the same place 11 years and I'm doing alright now. So could you.

Good luck and as said above they must see that you have what it takes. Sometimes it's about how you formulate a response as well as the overall answer to questions. If its a leadership role jump on the coaching and mentoring bandwagon as these are buzz topics in any large organisation.

they wouldn't let you interview if they didn't think you were capable... show them what you're worth!

Thanks for the encouragement people!! It's a lead based role, although not strictly leading a team. It's based around a brand new project, so could open doors for me. Excited + nervous. I'm sure ill be fine! Hopefully my next post on the subject is to say I've got it!

It was. They said.. "How would you communicate with stakeholders at varying levels, effectively." I said "well, I'm on the golf forum and I communicate alright with them.."
Lapped it up.
But in all seriousness, thanks all for all the support. I'm really happy! :-)
