mk2 1.3 4+e the sunroof is just a push up one. (not on rails) its leaking water all over my head and I have a leak in passengers footwell aswell so might be related as iv put new membrane and seal the leaf heater vent.
but can't seem to find the drain hole exit points. any one know where they might be front and back??

doubt you will have them, if its an aftermarket " cut a hole whack in a seal and some glass " type roof
Pictures will be required . . . . .

Once they start leaking, that's it, they're fecked. Most retro fitted sunroofs back in the 80's would leak after a couple of years.
Aftermarket sunroofs have got much better over the years, so you could always see if there is room to fit a slightly larger one. That way, they would cut a slightly larger hole in the roof, so it would be like starting all over again.

I've got one of these aftermarket sunroofs on mine, it was leaking and raining like yours, but the previous owner had already siliconed it up. I took the glass out (very quick) using the clip, removed all the silicon, got a sponge and warm water and cleaned all the crap out of the grooves around the seal. Once dry I sprayed some silicon SPRAY, the stuff used for lubricating, on the seal.
I thoroughly cleaned the glass sealing surfaces with window cleaner and replaced the glass.
I haven't had a drop come in all the way through the winter and I can open the sunroof when I want to. As long as the seal isnt perished it should just need a good clean and lubrication with the spray.
Might work if you want to use the sunroof at the moment

Nice gives me hope. any idea what seal i should buy to fit this sun roof? i don't even no what car the sun roof came from but the seal looked to small for it.

If the sunroof is the same as mine it is called a Britax Sunhatch, unfortunately I don't have a picture.
A place in Bristol can supply you with the seal http://www.bristolsunroofs.co.uk/
i think it was about £30 for the seal but they actually gave me this advice for sorting the current seal, good place!
