Noticed theres a small knock when turning. Mainly when stationary and at different points if going from lock to lock, but only when going full right to left? Feels like the steering column, but steering is very loud! Wondering if any valves have gone/going in the rack?
Also have a knocking noise at low speeds, which I've only noticed since putting 5mm spacers up front. Sounds a bit like like a knackered top mount but can feel it when moving forwards slowly...backwards seems ok? Road type makes no odds, smooth, bumpy, no difference...I know the boot from gearbox to driveshaft is split, but feels more to do with the wheel...
Any ideas welcome! :? Was thinking a ball joint or something, but you can feel the moving knock is to do with the wheel...thinking bearings but theres no movement in the wheel when jacked up?

Top mounts gets my vote, especially with the spacers putting additional stresses on the steering.

Mmmm.....tbh the top mounts were what came with the coilovers (used) but looked pretty new...
But it feels as though it's from the wheel and rack, rather than the top mounts? And the steering knock feels like something sticking, but theres no sound like a spring releasing like i've had with top mounts before?
Both noises sound like they're in different places, the steering knock sounds like it's behind the center console and moving knock in the drivers arch....

Trust me its top mounts.
When I changed mine I thought these still look like new and they've done 35,000 miles.
When I swapped them my fronted was also 10mm higher.
They where shagged but still looked ok.
I also had the same banging as you lock to lock.

Right...pas has become very noisy! The knock I had is now over the whole of the lock to lock movement.
Took the pas fluid cap off...extremely low and very bubbly! New fluid going in asap! Im thinking the knock could be where the rack has air instead of nice lubricating fluid?
Another possibly related q though...I have wet belts...putting 2 and 2 together, I hope a pas pipe runs near the belts and the wetness is a pas fluid leak which can be easily fixed, that will make 4...
