i have a problem with my rear wiper cant seam to get it to work properly silly question as i am new to mk2 golfs but what position on the stork operates the rear wiper. i can't get it to work but when i spray the rear jets it works and continues to work and then i can't turn it off untill i switch engine off and restart and then same problem wont operate off the stork any suggestions please

Push the right hand stalk away from you to start intermittent wipe. It'll continue to wipe until you push it away again.
Turning the ignition off also stops the wipe. :smiley:

As above, though there is a possibility that you have broken wires where the loom passes from the roof, to the tailgate, check that both number plate lamps are working, and the heated rear screen is also working...
Broken wire should be repaired with solder and heat shrink insulation

I had this when I bought my first mk2, as said, slight push away starts wipe, slight push away stops wipe, big push away squirts rest window.

I always thought it was a stupid switch design, right back to when I first drove a Mk2 in 1988.
