Title: tuning with a weber

Ok for ages now u have kept meaning to replace my peirburg carb with a weber. i now have a weber 32/34 twin choke fitted to my jetta. and i am very impressed by it. what other mods can i do to my 1.6 with weber?

mod ur airbox and a cold air feed pipe if uv not done already.

Replace the head with a PB code GTI head, with pennies in the injector holes.  Stick a more aggressive cam in it.

Then realise you're wasting your time and go find an ABF.  :grin:

Don't expect any big hikes in power. My 32/34 dmtl on a 1.8 helped mid and upper revs a bit with cold air feed. Sounded 10 times better and was slightly better on fuel until you floored it..... then it was worse! I found that the setup was very, very delicate. The settings that came with the carb were good but I found that it had to be richened slightly to run smoothly. MOT time meant leaning it off to pass the emmisions too.
