Title: Re: 3" ebay exhaust
Post by: mar_k on 27 January 2013, 18:55
I find these exhausts to be really quiet in comparison to other brands,
On idle they are as quiet as a normal exhaust, On boost there is just a nice groan, nothing excessive by any means.
Title: Re: 3" ebay exhaust
Post by: mar_k on 27 January 2013, 18:59
Forgot to say, For those who run these exhausts on mapped cars I would advise uprating the dog mount bush,
The standard bush allows to much movement and can tear the flexi pipe,
It happened to my mates one twice, Since uprating the bush there hasn't been any issue.

May just be a problem on my mates car, The bush was quite worn and he seems capable of breaking anything.

Anyone had any fitting issues with this system....looks like decent quality for the money. Also what sorta delivery times have you had from the states?
Title: Re: 3" ebay exhaust
Post by: Granta Gti on 29 January 2013, 23:32
No issues, just gotta use some exhaust cement and better clamps and a bit of tweaking to stop it banging on the rear beam and then it's spot on! Good system these.
Title: Re: 3" ebay exhaust
Post by: rio_gti on 29 January 2013, 23:44
2 working days delivery  :lipsrsealed:

Only issue I found with fitting is where the join is over the rear beam, it's very close to get the clamp on...... I could just about hear a little blowin but as I'm working on the car with just the front wheels on ramps it's very tight under there!!!!

he he,

If I were you I would use some kind of sealant in there, you can get one forget the name of it but it looks like Clear Silicone when you put it on and then clamp it
Title: Re: 3" ebay exhaust

You'll find the clamp sits very close to the rear beam, mine nearly sits on it and touches with a bit of weight in the back...

I'll be checking a nice thick bit of rubber in between to stop the rattling though lol
Title: Re: 3" ebay exhaust
Post by: Prawny on 30 January 2013, 17:56
I used wire around the first back box mount to lift the system up slightly. Cured the knocking nicely :)
