Title: sidelight stuck on! only the removing fuse will turn it off!?
Post by: whileoceanasleeps on 23 January 2013, 22:44
hey all, i removed my clocks to add some leds and after i reinstalled i noticed the left side light was still on, even when the switch was off. weird i thought. so i unplugged the switch, still on. the only way i can get it to turn off is to take out the fuse...

i looked up and found the L side light cable from the switch side of the loom and had a look for breaks but it looks ok. anyone got any ideas why my light won't turn off!? its got something to do with taking the clocks out like i've split a cable or pulled something out but can't see/find anything... any help much appreciated!

Are both side lights on?, if no and only one is on, check to see if parking light is on

it's just the left side-light that's on, front and rear. parking light? isn't that the same as side light?

It's just a parking light, if your parked on left side, just hit the indicator stalk to left position and it will turn on side lights, to make other drivers aware that there is someone there, and vise versa if your parked on right hand side

ha i didn't know the indicator stalk did that.

it's quite funny now that i know looking back on me pulling the clocks out again and checking wiring diagrams in the haynes manual, thinking i needed a new loom.    it's always something simple!

First time i found out i had parking lights was exactly the same haha, was pulling the clocks out and as i pulled it out i had to push the indicator stalk down/left. Then when i put it all back in somebody told me i had one sidelight on. Sorted mine quite quick when i started the car and my indicator was going haha.
