about the spi carb set up  and my ongoing running issues

sh!te mpg probs 20mpg

no power I have had a 1.4 one of these before this one is not right

only starts if I floor throttle same time

if I blip the throttle a few times it will die

once started and still cold sometimes it wont rev up you have to floor it and wait

What have you tried already ? I'm not sure how old yours is but if its around 96 it will have an obd socket in the dash and it may want the throttle butterfly cleaning with some carb cleaner and then recalibrating ,

Check the rubber flange on the throttle body for cracks etc

rubber flange fine , no fault codes , carb cleaner , tried it all

only thing I touched that made a difference is a vac line going from the carb to a valve on osf wing this is sucking shut and flat the valve is clicking a lot it seems then to go to the charcoal filter

Pull all the charcoal crap out and just block the vac line even temporary.

Can also try a new TB and SPI unit as they do play up sometimes. It's not a carb mate.
