Hi. Got the car on the dyno and it's running at 143bhp got it remapped and it's stil running at 143bhp. There going to check the boost. If that is ok does anyone have any ideas why the remap isn't working ?
-
it cant be 147 before the remap and 147 after because the values they change when mapping create more boost and therefore more power.
what car and ECU does it have?
-
It's a boost prob. I havnt a clue about golfs.
-
Golf mk4 1.8t 20v havnt a clue about the ecu. Turbo is working its not boosting he said.
-
He thinks it's the diverter valve
-
Changed the n75 valve or 1.8T WASTE GATE PRESSURE VALVE And seems 2 b working ok but not as good as I thought it wud

Where was it mapped?
-
If it was down on power to start with they should not have remapped it without sorting the problem.

They done the remap and i took it 4 drive and it didnt feel any different. They put it on the dyno and it said 143 bhp after the remap. The boost was only going at 0.3 or 3 bar on the dyno not to sure about boost readings. He took off some vacuum hose to the turbo and done the dyno run again and it boosted at 167 bhp. Told me it cud b n75. Replaced that but dosnt feel any diff. Does anyone have any ideas please?

dont take it near the guy again  get it to some1 that knows what they are doing
-
Yea i no. Id like to no why its not boosting properly

by the sounds of things a wouldnt leave a push bike with this guy to fix  never mind mappin my car

Check all your boost pipes, vacuum pipes etc and also try and find someone that has vagcom and get it scanned!!!

is there a diagram on the internet that i could check, to be honest i havnt a clue about VW engines or were all the boost pipes, vacuum pipes etc are.

You can do a lot of checks yourself.
* diverted valve:
Its a small black valve that located near the top right hand corner of you engine bay just next to your air filter box. It kind of looks like a small round tube with 3 tubes leading off it. One on the the top (very small) one at the bottom and one on the side (both of these are the same size) it will take you about 3-6 mins to remove it and all you need is a driver to undo the screws on the clips holding it in place.
Once you have removed it you will notice that if you put your finger in the bottom you can push up the piston (it should be hard) now what you want to do is push it up then before your remove your finger cover the nipple tube on the top then remove your finger from the bottom. If done correctly you will notice that the piston you pushed up will stay up (note that its normal if it moves a tiny bit). If however after creating a vacuume the piston just drops straight back down then yes your diverter valve is broken. But if it stays up its fine. Also worth noticing if you spot small amount of oil in and around the valve, don't panic, that's normal.
However when remapping a golf you should never really use a stock DV you should always upgrade to a forge 007p or forge 008 and always ensure you use a recruitalting DV and NEVER a "dump valve"
Hope this helps

ive a pipercross induction filter on and a forge 007p. i changed the n75 valve cause he took some hose of from the turbo and it boosted fine then he put the pipe on and my boost will not go past 0.3 bar and standard is about 0.6 bar. my car has been remapped and now should be running up to 1 bar boost.. to be honest im just going by what i seen. sorry if its not enuf info

Has anyone have any ideas?
-
found this pipe beside the dip stick sum1 has taped it up and when the engine is running its closes , and f""king broke the dip stick !
how do u add pic on the forum?
-
they re-maped it without diagnosing the problem, well at least i no not to go there for a remap.
-
me to! i didn't no anyone else in northern ireland that do remaps
-
blackcode in lisburn
-
how much do they charge?
-

how much do they charge?
havent got a clue about a price for a 1.8t but my dads Scooby was £450 give them a ring on 0845 643 6898

they should never have remapped your car in the first place!
They should have checked it's condition and performance before mapping the car, and sorted out any issues or sent you away. To just upload a map and send it out running no differently is hugely irresponsible and shows a pretty basic lack of knowledge.
I'd be asking for your money back straight away, and taking your car somewhere to have it sorted out properly first, then going somewhere DECENT to have it mapped.

this is the pipe. http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q646/stevends11/photo-1_zps63713fab.jpg

That's the Pcv pipe I upgraded mine to a silicone one for £18.99 well worth the price if that is leaking your car won't boost correctly. What was the pipe he removed also have you upgraded the spring in your forge dv?
Btw buy this pipe as a replacement for your broken one. (Just to note that is for an AUM engine)

the pipe he took of was coming from the n75 valve and went to the back of the turbo, think its called waste gate? my engine AGU. the forge is new and what site did u get the PCV pipe from ?
-
Don't know much about the whole n75 stuff (need to look into it) but follow the link below and you can order your replacement PCV pipe for your AGU £18.99 delivered to your door :)

happy days thank you for your help.

as the others have said, they should have given the car a full check over before mapping the car, most tuning places know the common areas to check for boost leaks and such and then do a run, and from there diagnose any faults, run vagcom etc.
'most' tuners do offer a try before you buy type service where if you are not happy with the map, they take it off or dont charge you, so make sure you 'kindly' let them know that as far as you are concerned you have paid for a service that hasnt done what it is meant to
-
Has he given you a refund?

Some info, done what you all said IE checked all boost hose and vacuum hose. Found one pipe that I replaced. Took the car back up to the boys who were very understanding. Ryan sent some time gettin the car sorted. Some tweaks here and there and it's going like sh!t of a blanket.
