i wana put my mk3 gti 8v engine into my mk1 but what i need to no is what things do i need to change or adapt

it sits to high so need to ether adjust the mounts or find a bubbel block 2ltr found in some audis code is 3A

if going to the bother of getting a tall block to fit why not find a 16v  :evil:

ive got the donor car so might aswell chuck it in
mounts arnt a problem do i need to change the manifolds?

mk3 lump will usualy foul bonnet on a mk1 unless its  droped a bit , never used the mk3 inlet in a mk1 always swaped the head and used mk1 manifolds

what head and manifolds did you use?
and did you have to adapt them to fit thanks

mk1 manifolds usally a mk2 head ( for hydralic tappets ) if useing a bubbel block or mk3 bottom end when just doing a 1.8 - 2.0 conversion

or if doing a non gti mk1 to 2.0  tend to use what bits are avalible at the time or are withing budget  usally mk1 manifolds tho on ether mk1 or mk2 head
