In need of some help here! I don't have a clue when it comes to computers. My daughter is after a laptop and I have £500-550 to spend. It needs to be a proper laptop not one of those smaller ones, same size as mine which is 15-16" I think by looking at it. It also needs a webcam thing as she talks to her mates on the computer.
Thanks in advance.

does she do anything else with it?

Mate if all she is doing is chatting online and maybe watching a movie and listening to tunes then you don't even need to go that much there are some amazing deals for about 400 and under
http://www.johnlewis.com/231836619/Product.aspx. This for example comes in various colours
There are so many similar types to this as in brands.... I used John Lewis as an example as u get a 2yr warranty as standard just have a look at everyday laptops and maybe just let her pick 1 she likes the look of as to be honest if she's not doing gaming then anything you buy within 300 to 500 will do the job all comes down to brand preference and look IMO Samsung.. Hp ... Acer... Asus ... You won't go far wrong with any of them

Have a look at the samsung i5 350V5C - Amazon has it for about £480. No blu-ray drive.

Have a read of this, a month in now, and all is good, and very pleased with the deal, and the machine itself.
