Post by: tdi_blu on 20 January 2013, 14:08
Hi just wondering what else I could do to my 100pd derv to get a few more horses.Ive only done some basic mods like de-cat with a straight pipe,EGR delete and drilled airbox plus the car has had a remap but havent a clue what kind of power it has.Is there any more DIY mods I could do that may see a few more horses thanks.

In a word, no.

Need to start changing turbo getting bigger injectors now...

Injectors dont cost mega bucks though,  coupled with a fresh remap you could onto a winner.  How about uprated intercooler?

They're about £200 per unit.

IC is a good one, forgot about that. A hard pipe kit  for your IC would also help.

It's a PD Diesel engine which use different injectors driven of the camshaft which are extremely expensive

S3 Intercooler and hard pipe kit is a nice setup..not sure if it fits the 100pd engines though  :undecided:

This. This is what I want to get next!

Get on darksidedevelopment, they do hard pipe kits for all the engines I think

Did the old S3 not had twin intercoolers like the Mk1 TT? I've been looking at hard piping with the EGR delete. Here's the one I'm tempted to click BUY (http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=181059346190&index=0&nav=SEARCH&nid=51439019214)

What are the benifits with the hard pipe they do look good is it a case of the air flows better ?
Has anyone every tryed one of these tunning boxes can they be used if your cars been mapped and do they cause damage??

Remaps are better than tuning boxes; you can control far more than the box can.

Don't go fitting one if you already have a remap!
