Title: help - digital odometer and clock inop

on a friends mk4 Golf, the digital displays for the clock and the mileometer/odometer does not work...any ideas? fus perhaps?

Checked connection the back? Check for damage on the circuit board

do you think that's all it can be? damaged or broken circuit/dodgy connection? are they linked in anyway? same connector etc?

Pretty sure it's.a.common problem with clocks. I'd guess a new set are needed.

check the pcb for cold solder spots, resolder. might also be a problem with voltage reg.... so measure it's in- and output voltage.
