first things first! fix a few faults then nothing OTT... might change the front end to round lights. just looking in to it all at the moment.

do it! its a piece o piss to do, dunno if you need a different slam panel but its easy to change, and someone will buy the jetta front.
check your doorcards are not rotten at the bottoms, pull em off and inspect the membrane on the door.
this needs to be pretty much watertight mk2 s are designed to let water in the doors. also make sure the drainholes are clear at the very bottom of the doors so the water can drain away.
check the door shut seals are in good nick too and the roof gutters as this can also be a problem.
alsso the drainholes from the sunroof can fill with crap and you need something like a wire coat hanger to clean them.
other than that it could be windscreen seal? heater box? the panel under the bonnet where the wiper mech is?
dont worry tho, most mk2 owners have these problems, including me!

yeah been on google got some hints n tips, will inspec door cards asap....
do u ever use ur Sun roof? iv never had use for one before just open my window lol. so thinking along them lines if I can't find the leak ill just silicone it up lol.

only in the summer but id think twice befor silicone, if the drainholes are working it should be reasonably ok.
rule out everything else first, membranes are cheap fitting them is cheap and the heater box and scuttle would only need sealent if they are leaking. clean the sunroof drainholes first too, and check all these areas first. a sunroof seal is only about 30 notes if it comes to that

No Brainer To Me...
You now own a classic car.. Treat it as such...
There are only 2 places a sunroof can leak from...
1, the 4 drain holes
2, the rear drainage panel attached to the rear of the sunroof panel (can only be found once removed)...
As suggested look at more OBVIOUS culprates 1st...
