Hi everyone.
It has been cold the last few days, I drove to the train station yesterday morning and the wipers were working fine.
Last night i sat in my car and ran the heaters until the windscreen was clear but when i tried the front wipers i get nothing?
I tried the Fuse this morning and this is all good , When I pull the lever I get no water shooting either and when I put the front wipers on I get no sound and no movement at all.
The Back is working fine.
Anyone ever had this before Is it a common failure?
help please im new to this

The linkage can often seize up. Strange though that the jets didn't go off, unless it only squirts when the wipers run. Do a search for wiper linkage seized yo

Spay the linkage with WD40 through the bulk head i did mine when they was very slow mines been perfect since just keep them sprayed up .

Control unit can give trouble  It looks like this...

i did this to mine as well but they finally went when i was 96 miles from my house in heavy rain ,i had to drive home on the motor way. Replace the linkage

Thanks everyone so it has evolved since this morning.
I now can hear the motor buzzing when i stand outside with the bonnet up and hear the speed adjust when i hit the lever so it looks like the motor is good so can we say it must be 100% the linkage.
The jets are now spraying the windscreen so looks like they were just frozen.
So with this extra information i can confidently say it is linkage I will order a new one , will try WD40 until the part arrives and pray it does not rain.

yeah its a common fault, remove the linkage and try turning each wiper, one will be so stiff it will not move. Water gets past the seal on the spline of one of the wipers ,passanger side if i remember. Also new linkage don't come with a new seal.
