need to get some oil.. want to get the best stuff. i'm thinking get synthetic but reading up some people are saying it's not as good, just wondering what people's experiences are
-
Depends on engine.
-
abf
-
I've always stuck with semi in mine which is recommended by VW.
-
Semi is all good in an abf.
-
10/40 or 15/40 semi synth is a good choice
-
10/40 semi gets my vote
-
10/40 semi for a healty engine in a road car,
15/40 semi in a tired/tappy engine in a shed
20/50 for a f**ked engine that has no oil pressure and rattels like a tin of bolts
5/50 fully synth for fresh performance engines

just ordered some fully synth duckhams oil (the one recommended in the haynes manual), will this be ok then? i know it's not semi.. :embarrassed:
-
haynes only recomend duckhams because there payed by duckhams to do so. it's fine to use fully synth in the abf engine will be perfectly happy with it. te fully synth is just a better more stabel oil in theory the engine just dosent realy need that in a road car
