i know I've asked about wheels before, but I'm struggling to get BBS etc...
Can anyone gove me wheels styles that would look good on my standard '90 16v jus tto keep my options open!! I don;t want anything massive or outrageous, just some nice 15'' wheels, don;t mind doing some refurb on them either!
Cheers

at the moment i like standard 15's that have been detailed. i know a guy with an atlas grey who has a set of teardrops(14's) that are colour coded to his car with polished lips, they look sweet as!!!
-
Ronal Turbos..... it was either the Turbos or B2's.. i went B2's but Ronals would look great on urs...

Ooo nasty paint job! I hope that was a work in progress!
I say polish them to! Cant beat shiney in my book!
-
you don't like my choice of paintwork then???
that is as they will be delivered to me, I intend to shot blast, and polish, hopefully all for free - (my dad loves this type of work!!)
Just hope they are all nice and straight when I get them!!!
Cheers
PS what size tyres should I stick on them? 195/50/15? or something else as they are 15*7
-
I wouldent put a 50 profile on thats a bit too big for my liking. More like a 40 or even 35 if you like the rubber band look! The smaller the better i say when it comes to tyre profile size.
-
doesn't the profile alter the speedo reading though???
-
Stick 45 profiles on them, its the best compromise as it will not give a rock hard ride or be too soft. As for rolling radius, its not really something worth considering as long as you are not going from one extreem to the other, as analogue dials are more inaccurate the higher up the range you go.
-
its currently running 17's on 40 rubber, is this ok to go down to 15's with 45 rubber?

Go for a 45 profile but get a slightly stretched look.. will look good on a 7"... you might struggle to find tyres to fit though with a stretched look...
Speak to the two people below there pretty sh!t hot on stretched look..

Knobby..

only problem with stretched is that you risk them rolling off the rim with fast turning.
Going back down to 15s will actually make your speedo more accurate seeing as its running on 17s at the mo.
-
not sure about fast turns.. mines been alright so far.. Just u have to watch out for kurbs.. as no rim protector.. oh and pot holes..
-
excuse me for being a bit thick - but whats this stretched look?
All I want is the correct size tyre for 15*7, its my daily driver so don't want anything thats going to cost me a fortune to keep on top of, or cause me any turning suspension probs etc...

195 45 15
-
cheers, what is this stretched look though, streching tyres onto bigger wheels???
-
yup.
I.E. 195 tyres on 205 wheels.
-
what benifit does that hav?
Wheels will look class shiny mate, a good purchace!
-
its done for cosmetic reasons, makes your wheels look fatter than they are.
-
thought this might be useful to someone!!!

on a 7x15 you could do
195/50/15
185/50/50
or 45 instead of 50, if you want a lower profile. I would go for the cheapest size you can find in Goodyear Eagle F1's.
I personaly have 195/50/15. Didn't want to stretch, and wanted plenty of grip, and a less harsh ride. mine is a daily too.
