Post by: smithy7861 on 16 January 2013, 15:32
Noticed over the last couple of days, when i lock my golf via the key fob, the drivers side headlight, indicator and back headlight stay on!!  Its now starting to do everytime i lock the car and open it.  Any suggestions please im not got a clue about wiring etc, have no idea where to start.

Cheers guys

If not, its probably gonna be your convenience control module.

its below the stearing wheel, by the relay panel. you will have to get your keys re-coded after swapping it. It doesnt effect the immob, so you'll still be able to drive. but it will knock out your central locking till you get them coded

they're in the region of £100 from the stealers, I'd have a look at yours and make a note of the part number (theres 3 or four different ones depending on no. of doors, options etc) then see if you can get one from ebay, then get your keys re-coded, will probably save you about 80-100 quid!

anyone know how to tell if your ccm is coded to your keys? or anyone able to do it? think thats why my central locking isnt working, either ccm has gone or its been replaced and not coded, think the latter cause everything else on the car works fine

sorry for thread hijacking :D

Its not the steering column you need to strip, its down in the footwell above the pedals.
