so tonight i noticed a slight overheat, just above halfway.
i hav no major loss of water but some mayo in the water pipes.
is my head gasket goin or could it be the water pump as ive noticed a bit of a whirring noise from the water pump area as if the bearings in the pump are on their way out.
would it be a good idea to change the head gasket and pump or can anyone point me in the direction of which it may be??
if i do both is it a hard job and how long could it take??
any help would be great
cheers

Wow!!!
Do the pump before it fails
Get the metal blade type
-
haha yeah i think i will.
where would you reccomend gettin one??
-
euro car parts. Use the discount code
-
you defo reckon its that an not head gasket??
wheres the discount code lol??
-
doesn't matter!
it is possible, and its likely headgasket is damaged because of poor water pump

All because the temp needle read slightly over half ? How much you talking ?
Mine always reads half or very rarely just the other side of the half but still on the hot edge of the normal temp mark ?
So that's a problem ?

the mayo in the water :employees:
top of oil cap is fine for mayo, but not in the water

Yea I agree with the mayo and wurring noise , just read it and thought mine may be heading for sh!t creek . But it's cold out

Just an idea but has the water got enough antifreeze in could be the water freezing and stopping it been pumped round?
Only an idea as I had this with an old van I had
-
just above half way? I.e. 90c-100c? Thats not overheating. Engine should always run @ 90c.
Check coolant levels, check fan is working. Don't worry about it.

Before you panic on the mayo issue, it might not be the head gasket, the oil cooler could have failed.
