Mine is on 40mm drop coilovers, I find this just 'right' in terms of looks and performance. The original ride height of the MK3 just looks silly IMO.
I can get up onto most kerbs and over speedbumps no probs, even with the deeper anniversary splitter.

On my old mk3 I thought 40mm was enough and then got bored and lowered it further on coilies.... it looked far better but caused speed bump issues!
my new car is going 40mm max though!! :lipsrsealed:

For handling I would only lower it by 30mm and more and you will ruin it.

Mine has - 40mm Eibach sportline springs front and rear and about 10mm dropped on the rear strut plates to level it out a bit more. As mentioned they do look a bit better when down a touch more but i wouldn't go any lower personally as the ride simply suffers to much for my liking.
