My 1.8 T keeps stalling when idling any ideas???
I have changed the MAF with no difference.
There appears to be a high pitched whine/beep noise coming from the alternator area when the ignition is on but other than that no other signs of what could be wrong including a fault warning light.

does it start ok, you got a code reader?
-
It starts fine no issues
Idles fine for 30 secs then gradually stalls unless you rev it loads and hold revs above 2k but will still eventually stalls
I dont have a code reader and there is no engine management light on

Cleaned my throttle today (aum) for similar issues. Mainly poor running when cold. Its easy to do and its free! Car feels better but will see how it goes in the week ahead. Heres a pic of the state of it....

Sorry to hijack but mine does the same but it don't cut out get a flat spot between 2.5k till 3k revs would a broken back box be the problem also have a slight blow in middle section?? And only getting 25mpg and would I be best to change the maf aswell

Sounds like a air/fuel issue to me, and with your blowing in the middle and blown backbox? That would cause wrong readings for the lambar
