Title: 1.8t agu rev limiter ?

Hi all as above rearly ive been replaceing a few pipes on the old gal today and noticed it hits a limiter at just under 6k when stationary ?but when driveing i can hit the red line .....whats all that about ????

The rev counter doesn't give a 100% true reading up that high anyway. Mine has been raised to 7200 and I never hit the limiter, I don't have the balls lol

Limiter slightly lower when stood still......standard limiter AGU is 6800rpm

Cheers guys for the quick responce .....also just another quick one ....what does fuse 12 do on an agu cus mine was missing ....????

Yeah i found it .......Its answered my other post about the agu being scanned ....Fuse 12 is the power supply  linked to the obd port mine was missing and thats why i couldnt connect to the obd port .

it's really not a good idea to be revving the engine freely that high anyway, it needs load on it to be safely revved like that!

My limiter is at 7400rpm, and I frequently reach it  :evil:

Bearings need load to work properly, without load it's risky as fook revving it that high  :whistle:

As prawny says, not good without load as anyone who dwelves into quantum mechanics will elaborate. The momentum of the internals are different when loaded and not loaded, in spite of the fact that in both examples the piston, rods and crank take the same path.

The limiter is no means a complete safe guard.
