how or more importantly where and how far are you driving it?
can be normal or then something wrong with fuel mixture (air leaks, ht leads or plugs, o2 sensor.....)

Get on a motorway then reset the mpg while traveling at 60mph and then see what it is doing

No MPG gauge on a 1.4

How did you work out 20-25 mpg?
Fill the tank then see what miles it does?
So then 20-25 is an average over 220-275 miles to a tank right?
Where do you do most your driving?

I will get less than that id think 3/4 tank got me 160 miles that was £45
most of the time its the comute mon to fri 3mile to and 3 mile from from work

short journeys will give you much higher mpg. my work is two miles away and my counter reads about 12-14 mpg before i arrive whereas a long journey on a motorway will give about 38.. something to bear in mind..

So yeah you will average about 220 to a tank. And if your only doing 3 miles your engine is never getting hot and will use more fuel?
What type of roads are they? And what sort of driving you do when your not commuting?
You meet up with ya mates in ya car and sit there all night?

click on the "fuel pump" icon next to my mpg below....
it shows liters / 100km but you can easily see the difference between town driving (like you 3 miles to and from work mon - fri) and motorway....
drinks twice as much "commuting" than on long motorway run at moderate speed... and mine's a 75hp 1.8 =( not vr6 ;)
