Hi All,
I am new to the forum and new to golfs! This is my first golf gti that I have picked up as a run around. It is in modest condition and a few hours will see her right.
I need to get fix the abs issue on it and give the body work a good tidy up, apart from that she is mint and everything works as it should!

Hi there and welcome...

hi mate, tidy motor! whats your plans for her?
-
Welcome, looks tidy. Check for rust behind all the plastics while you're going over the bodywork, particularly the sills.

Hi and welcome

Thanks for the welcomes guys
I pulled off all the plastic trim last weekend and I found zero rust! There is some surface rust where the jacking points are but you would expect that.
I sealed the wheel arches and sills with waxoyl while I was having a look but I could only do so much due to the cold! When the snow lifts I am going to finish sealing her. I have also restored the dim black plastic trim with black in a flash and I am really impressed with the outcome. I will put more pics up soon.
I plan to use her as a run around and I am keeping her standard apart from getting a set of sexy bbs alloys and some coilovers.
