Title: Test drive weekend
Post by: bcarlin on 11 January 2013, 22:27: I see vw are advertising a test drive weekend for tommorrow and Sunday. Anyone planning on going ?
I might go just to see the interior etc

I'm going to pop in to have a look in Leicester after a booked test I have in a Volvo v40! :grin:

Post by: bcarlin on 12 January 2013, 17:56: Oops sorry guys. I went today and had a look in the gt and another model(unsure of what spec) and I'm very disappointed in the mk7. I know I can't compare a gt to a gti but there is not a lot of changes and I'm not keen on the centre console layout.
The cd player has been moved to the glovebox.

Tis tru! I was surprised when the dealer told me that it now has a cd multichanger. The use of two sd slots is good and also the ability to use the a hard drive feature too, personally mine will be iPod.

Have you driven an A Class yet? They don't seem to be getting a very good press.

+1 on this one mate! Even the dealers yesterday were saying it. And it's std on the GT so that means that the GTi etc will have something similar too? Fooking fugly!

Post by: Exonian on 13 January 2013, 10:56: I reckon the GT will have the adaptive cruise but not the GTI. The mk6 GT had cruise but it was an extra on the GTI.
GTIs are for driving but GTs are for cruising (and using up company car allowances)

+1. I took one out with What Car and hated it. S3 or GTI looks like the real choice here.
