Are there more knobheads on the road at the moment with lights out on their cars? I know I'm having a meldrew moment but how is it people can not notice having lights bulbs out and I'm sure on some of them their cars must give a dashboard warning!

Not just you mate. I must pass at least a dozen cars a day with either a bulb out, their fogs or high beam on and in some cases NO lights at all

jesus, your life must be rosey if thats all you got to moan about . . . . . . . . . . .

There's a few of 'those' cars down here, I've owned a few

Yep loads where i am too! Im also thinking that some of the drivers lately have had a memo that i missed stating.....
MEMO TO DRIVERS
Make sure when its raining that you drive faster, don't indicate and ensure that you cut people up when ever possible at high speeds. And for extra safety do your best to forget to stop at red lights and zebra crossings.

Why is it when a car has 1 bulb out the other working one is always pointing upwards?

So true
Loads round here with lights out too and a fair few to the other extreme, i.e with all lights blazing.....fogs, headlights, DRL's

One of my rear bulbs is gone. It's effort remembering to replace it to be honest!
-
in winter we spend more time driving in the dark than we do in summer, environmental conditions probably affect the longevity of bulbs too so it would make sense that you are noticing more people driving with incorrect lighting on their vehicle
