Post by: molegti on 10 January 2013, 19:05
is it possible to remove the engine with the gearbox in situ or has the whole lot definately have to come out and be split?

I took mine out last month with a crane and i left the box on. all i did was pull the cambelt side forward as it came out so the gearbox cleared the chassis leg.

Yes but it makes it harder, just as quick to remove both together and then split on the floor.

Why would you leave the gearbox in if you're taking the engine out,  its easier to leave it bolted together.

It won't make it easier. You d have to remove box from car then pull engine which will be a waste of time
