Title: A pillar air bag Q

in my mates r32 he has the covers that run down the A pillars (one next to the windscreen ?)

we are truing to do the w8 light mod but we need to run the wire down.

is the cover just a cover or is it attached to the airbag??

in other words is it safe to remove??

Pretty sure there isnt a airbag in the a pillar?

but yes its ok to remove afaik. have a look at the boost guage fitment thread. sure in there theres a pic with it removed.

 :rolleyes: R32 does indeed have side curtain airbags yo  :wink:

The cover is separate and remains in place when they go off, but still be careful where you run the wire.  Pop the cover off and feed it up behind the bag, see if you can't retain it behind the bag to prevent it moving around and ending up in front of it!  You'll want the battery disconnected to wire in the light, so if you're worried about the bags, disconnect it before you start pulling the A-pillar around.
