Title: Mapping - Extra Security Features
Post by: Yohan on 09 January 2013, 09:58
Car crime is on the increase in this area and although I am aware of the usual security features available (as are the theives), I was wondering if our ECU's allow for any sort of extra security measures to be programmed in or security holes to be disabled (not mentioned here for obvious reasons)?

I know there have been huge gains recently in the performance field of these ECU's but wondered if there was any other areas of the ECU that have yet to be explored?

It may sound daft but after the announcement of map switching etc, I was thinking along the lines of "press the brake pedal so many times before the car will start" sort of thing? Something less common that your average theif wouldn't know about.
