What threads are there for mk3 1.4 to 2.0 8v gti?

None, its cheaper to buy a 8v than even attempt to convert a 1.4.

What about insurance though? Isn't it massively bigger?

Wouldnt bother with a 8v id rather go for the 20v turbo convo. Also theres loads of guids on how to do it.

Sell up and buy a GTI much easier in the long run.

The GTI will come with not only a better engine, but with better braking and handling

If you have a 1.4 keep it standard & use it as cheap, reliable transport

or sell it and buy a GTI

yes a 8v will be more expensive than a 1.4.

but once you declare that youve put a non standard engine in the 1.4 chances are it will cost alot more on insurance than insuring an 8v that youve bought.

unless your planning not to tell the insurance tutt tutt

Basically the bottom end has gone so thought whilst i have.the.engine out may as well fit something bigger in.

Much easier if you buy a donor car and swap all the parts over.

Oh i know, but don't have the funds to do so, what engine do you think would be easiest/quickest to do? Apparently the 1.6 aee use the same loom. just need swap the injectors and.ecu?
