Title: Scanned car, Need help with codes
Post by: mar_k on 07 January 2013, 10:09
This is on my 2.0 golf mk4, car was registered in 2000,
Its has a throttle cable. engine code AQY

Last night my car started to hold back in 1st gear, Only seems to be whilst pulling away,
No power, Then it comes back and drives fine......

I scanned the car and got these codes...........

17790-p1582-35-00 Adaption limit reached

P0131-35-10 intermittent
P0116-35-10 intermittent

I cleared the codes and only the Adaption limit code come back,

I have check the vac lines and all seems well,

Need to get this sorted as the car is for sale. really appreciate the help.

Lifted this:-

17990/P1582/005506 - Idle Adaptation Limit Reached
 Possible Solutions

* Check Fuel Pressure
 * Check Intake System for Leaks (False Air)
 * Check Fuel Injector(s)
 * Check Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve (N80)
 * Check Exhaust System for Leaks
 * Check Secondary Air Injection (AIR) for Leaks
 * Check Vacuum Lines for Leaks
 * Check Throttle Body

Special Notes

* It may be necessary to remove and clean the Throttle Body and perform a Throttle Body Alignment (TBA)

Cheers, So even if its cable operated rather than flybywire it may still need a TBA done?

Drive by wire.

It's not a plane, it'll never fly.
