I remember my mate telling me about this, he bodged it for me but said I needed to get it replaced. he said something about a breather pipe?
-
that said, its only started happening a few days after I had a full service (cam belt, waterpump) etc etc. that breather pipe has been on its way out for a while, and although I have noticed a slight loss in mpg, there is no loss in power.

the more I hear the noise, the less I think its a boost leak.
its like the whistling noise is coming from around the driver side of the engine towards the back/bottom.
the more I put my foot down the louder/faster it gets, if I ease off and drive at a steady speed, there is no whistle.

Check the pipe coming from the intercooler to the pancake pipe. Its a common place for a boost leak and is located under the drivers wheel arch so would be around the area you are describing

i'll do that today, thanks for the reply.

What Rhyso said. The push fit pipe is common to blow off.

Not had a chance to look yet but in my photo could someone give me the part number or name of the pipe that's split. It connects to the y pipe. Thanks

rather than replace the pipe, I would be lining a catch can up if I were you

If i was keeping her i would do this, but typical luck, just as i plan on getting her ready to sell, everything starts going wrong.
-
its cos she doesn't wanna go!
-
its a sign do not sell "keep me a love me" thats what she saying or she will take your wallet down with her
-
It would seem one of the jubilie clips had come away from a pipe causing a boost leak. All sorted now and she is back to normal.
I dont want to sell her now.

Mainly because im doing anywehere between 60-100 miles a day commute now and time has come to get something a bit more economical. I've been doing it for the best part of a year and im putting so much petrol in her its not even funny anymore.
