Title: K&n oil filter or genuine ?
Post by: spudboy6 on 04 January 2013, 23:34
Hey guys just been looking at oil filters as I need to change the oil and was wondering if anyone has any opinions and experiences with the k&n oil filters or am I best to stay with a Bosch or genuine ?

Thanks

I use K&N oil filters. They seem decent. From what I've read the metal is a lot thicker, the space between the filter and the outer skin is bigger so the oil circulates better than on other filters, and the filter element itself is much more efficient that OEM filters. However it's a benefit you don't notice, it's just quietly getting on with it's job.

I recon there just pimping there name on std speck products as best

they are from the amreican market so what is a big feature there in terms of engine lube is usally standard spec or even been superceeded by something better on european engines,  and they don't list any usefull info on the actual filtering specs of there oil filters and they are over twice the price of std and same size. i ery much dought there is any diffrence between them and any other afterarket factor part other than the paint and price
