Hi, Can you please add my name to the stand. I have just purchased a Mk3 GTI 16v after being forced to sell the Mk5 GTI  and be nice to be on the stand at her first show. What time is everyone meeting/arriving?

Added the pair of you.

Meet wise, we'll probably meet up at the stand itself and grab a bacon buttie and a brew there, as there isn't a great deal locally to meet up before rolling in.  Both me and JV plan to get there early enough (9am) to get the banner out, but if Richie is going, then he will win the early spot, as he lives in Bozeat!

The weather looks like it will be a bit cloudy, but no rain forecast so far so the strip 'could' be busy.

Myself and JV will be there from 9am, and yes you buy the tickets at the gate.

Have a gander at the first post as it details where the stand is and how to go about getting to it.

To everyone who was coming, I'm sorry but its write off, as it is chucking it down with no sign of letting off until 3-4pm.

The strip will take hours to dry with the probability of no racing at all, and with no cover to speak of, we would end up just sitting in our cars on the clubstand forcing us to be anti-social.

Sorry chaps, mother nature is a slag!

Well I'm here. I'll wave the flag. GTiRob93 is not happy. I've just met up with him at the Pod. He drove 3.5hrs from Bournmouth. Think I'll have a bacon roll and a cup of tea. There is still quite a turnout.

Well today was pretty much a wash out after all. There were 3-4 non food stalls and those that were there were non VW. All the permanent food stalls at end of drag strip were closed. There was still a turn out for the "show'n'shine". Guys busy wiping down there cars under an umbrella in the rain :-).
Did meet Mike Brewer though (Wheeler Dealers). He was doing a shoot for the new "Wheeler Dealers-Trading Up" show. At 11am there was just me from Bozeat(5mins away) and Rob from Bournmouth(3.5hrs). It was his first VW show as well, sorry Rob. You're going to have to wait till next year now.

Well done for flying the flag for the guys that showed up. I finished work at 6am this morning, looked at the forecast and then went to bed. Really wanted to get the motor down the strip again this year, but it wasn't to be. Gives me a chance to do a few tweak over the winter ready for next year.

Fingers, legs, arms, eyes crossed the weather will be good for then.
