Title: Rear coilovers creaking sound
Post by: dubpirate on 04 January 2013, 12:53
Ok so you have seen how low my mk3 was on the rear about 20mm from Morton of threads

So a couple of days ago I lifted it about 1.5 inch both sides on the thread

Not it has developed a creaking groaning sound when it's bumpy up and down

Any ideas peeps cheers dan

I had this on my Mk2. It was the plate between the main spring and helper spring. I used to spray mine with WD40 and it'd get rid of the sound for a while. You could try a thicker grease.

Or try new top mounts they can get noisy over time as they dry out.

I also think top mounts.

When I changed my fronts I also lowered the coil overs another 15mm bottom of threads. Expecting it to be proper low when infact it was prob 5mm higher due to the old mounts fcuked
