Title: OEM R32 Exhaust.
Post by: Pez on 03 January 2013, 21:34
Will the OEM R32 exhaust fit onto a 2.8 4motion without any modding aside from the rear bumper of course? Also I'm assuming there won't be much difference in sound between the two if it did? Cheers Pez

How much are custom exhausts in comparison? I'm finding £500 for a milltek a bit steep if I'm honest!

Maybe for a 1.8t but have not heard a custom sound better than a miltek non res on a V6

I have a Milltek fitted to my R32 and agree, they are a little overpriced for £500. Custom will be cheaper and your be able to almost pick your sound your after with different size boxes. Having one box or 2 rear cans etc etc.

They do sound good tho, cant knock what they do produce.

Here is my non res milltek and de cat. Turn UP your speakers for full effect. Spits flames too :)

Click the higher res option.

Hahaaa cheers, its pretty loud lol.

The actual Milltek 'non res' rear box is exactly the same as the Milltek 'res' rear box. Res and Non Res are referring to the silencer about 2 foot in front of the rear box. With the res you have a silencer, the non res you dont.

In that vid i'm running a de cat and a milltek non res set up.

You can almost bolt a Milltek system straight onto your 4motion. You will need to remove the rear towing eye as this gets in the way of the right hand side pipe. You might need to do a very slight bit of pipe cutting to get it sitting the correct length.

Hahaa cheers, that camera was pretty rubbish too for quality. It was a £25 china ebay jobbie. We had brilliant fun filming with it but it just lacked the quality.

Aye but u can get the 4mo miltek setup that has the same twin tail pipe on the left so surely that would be just a straight fit?

Like for like will be ok if your just upgrading yours to the same but a milltek. From what i understand is that if your fitting an R32 rear box to a 4 motion your need to remove the rear toe eye on the right as it gets in the way of the right rear exhaust tip. Its almost a straight swap.

Ahhhh you could just get a custom twin pipe made for the right so it will look like the oem 4motion tips on the left, that would look pretty sweet. Fit it with a decat and it would sound epic!
