Seen a lot of posts for poor running and cutting out but that's not what mine does!!!
So you start it up and it idles a bit at about 1200rpm till its warm then drops to about 800rpm,
I'll set off driving and when I next stop ie traffic lights if might then idle at 600rpm and be a bit surging because it's too low, I'll then set off again and when I next stop it might idle at 900/1000/1100/1200 rpm, then the next time I stop it may either be really high or low, it's not alternating on temperature because it's completely random.
Any ideas will be helpfully ?

Could be a number of things but for the second time this week I will point the finger at a tired warm up regulator. However, putting the random idle speeds aside, does it drive well regardless?

Yes apart from a blowing exhaust manifold and a leaking vac pipe I can hear down the back somewhere

Is there any full sets you can buy of vac pipes ? And I'll change them but none of them are split it was an echo of the blowing exhaust through a rust hole in the floor I could hear in the passenger side. So not a vac pipe issue causing random idle. Any ideas, is there any other idle valves or solanoids appart from cold start regulator and cable ?

Not aware of a kit/set but then it's not worth finding one. Just get roll of pipe and cut to length. However if you're confident that you haven't got a leak now then there is no point anyway. Be sure they are all tight fitting though as leaking vacuum has a big impact on smooth running. Also check that there isn't one missing, not uncommon.

first off give it a good service plugs leads dizzy cap and rotor arm change all filters, and as i have said change your vac pipes, the braiding may look ok but the rubber can be perished underneath. then look at cleaning throttle body including removing idle by pass screw and cleaning that and checking condition of O ring. then get ignition timing set at 6deg btdc. then with a warm engine and timing correct set idle with idle screw at 1000rpm.
as shaun said make sure your not missing a vac pipe or bung from the throttle body.
when you have done all that then you are going to need a test guage and check injection system.

When I said cable I ment cable onto the throttle body haha sorry my bad and gunna have to put the engine running out for the time being as I've just stripped the car interior all out to find the water leak that was filling up the car and found several structural holes of rust, whoever did the body work and respray was obviously only concerns with the cosmetics, I'll post some pictures of the damage when it's light

Shame and often the case when you buy an already resprayed car. I hope its not too bad.

Ooh its bad haha needs petrol tank out and wings off to get to effected area, 10" slit in passenger footwell as well , decided I'm gunna do a proper job of this now and take absolutely everything off and out ie engine tank wiring glass, just making a list of parts ATM does anyone know where I can pick up a compensator valve as mine has seized ? Thanks
