Title: How do I see km/l (mpg)

Can't figure out how to get the display (think its the one that usually shows time) to show km/l. I can only adjust the time. The other display shows total mileage and trip milage... Golf GTI 8v 1996.

Are you actually pressing in the MFA button on the wiper stalk?

Nope, haha! Thanks! Haven't got the manual for it and it's my first car :) problem solved.

EDIT: One thing though:

Does it count km/l from everytime i start the engine 'till it's turned off? Or is it per trip?
And how do I reset the trip counter?

You have two setting, there is a 1 and 2 slide switch next to the mfa switch on the stalk, number 1 displays info from when the car is started, setting 2 displays info over a greater period of time, to reset either just slide the switch out to the edge for a second and it will clear. To reset the trip counter just hold in the button that switches between mileage and trip reading.

Also, since you have no manual. On the wiper stalk there is an infinite intermediate wiper setting. To set it switch the wiper stalk down, then return it back to its off position, count a time you want the interval set and push the stalk back down and thats it set. I assume since you didn't know how to work the mfa you wouldn't know about this either.

I know the MFA, but didn't know this! Makes me happy :D

Also, If you hold down the milleage reset button, switch the ignition on, off, then start it (button held down) Then press the button to cycle through a few options, including Digi rev gauge (no7 i think) and also give live fuel gauge reading. :) Do the same with the MFA button and it'll give live MPG :)

@MereKat: Nice tip! think I read it somewhere else too on the forum :). digital rev gauge is awesome
