Like I said I'll probably sound like a right tit but I really can't seem to figure out how to remove the towing eye cover on my mk4 golf GTi!!!
I'm sure it's incredibly simple but I'm so frightened of scratching the bloody thing I thought I'd ask the pro's before I got heavy handed and broke something!
If any one can help I'd be eternally grateful.
Oh also on a slightly unrelated topic, any ideas where I can lay my hands on a new parcel shelf?
My local dealership claim they don't stock them!!!

Welcome :)
Think the lower grille just pulls out. Must be in the manual - if you have one!
Parcel shelf:
from someone breaking a mk4 on here
good old ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-Mk4-Hatchback-Model-Grey-Rear-Back-Parcel-Shelf-/221168413864
surely they are still available via the dealer, or maybe www.hoffmancarparts.com

Hi there and welcome...
Mr GTD will give you the link to upload your photos...
I would have thought it just pulled off....

On my Mk4 the front grilles pulled out, they have clips in the top and bottom which will need to be unclipped either from the back of the bumper or get your fingers between the front of the grille and bumper. Mine was low and couldn't reach behind, and the finger thing worked, but bent the top of the grille slightly when it was pulled out...Depending on the clips, they may break, they're only thin...
You can get the towing eye through the grill as well, but again bends it slightly...
