I have a 2000 1.8 20v t i bought it yesterday and it was running on 3 so checked it over and found an electrode missing from a plug so i put a new set of plugs in it and everything was fine.
today it started running a bit lumpy so ive checked the plugs again but they are ok i checked the coil packs and found that its number 4 (furthest to the right) so swapped the coil packs and found that its not the coil pack either so its definatly number 4 but the plug and coilpack are both ok the wiring loom to the coil pack looks ok too
where do I go next please?
-
Scanned it for fault codes?

ignition amp sounds fu*ked

Ignition amp . . . i was lead to believe that when that goes it can take the coilpacks with it.
where is it mounted/ is it an easy replace?

not 100% on that  Clean the contacts up (carfully) with a knife or emery cloth and then re-connect and test it.

have you drained the oil and checked in the filter to try and recover the electrode

does the fuel rail just pull off when the clips between the injectors and the rail have been removed.
i tried pulling but didnt wanna break anything.
