Title: Smokey engine when accelerating
Post by: The Danno on 02 January 2013, 14:16
Everytime I give it the beans accelerating on the motorway I get a fair bit of smoke. Any ideas what it may be?

Boost leak. Check all of your hoses to and from your IC/turbo/manifold/EGR etc

A loose pipe should be quite obvious and easily remedied.

What colour is the smoke, I.E Black, Blue?

Does it smoke on cold start up?

Every diesel will a little, and it is nothing to worry about (unless it turns your postcode to a smokey haze), just excess fuel.

Not sure of the smoke colour. Cant drive the thing at the moment as it appears to be losing water, so will have to get it checked out.

Will report back when she's up and running
