Right well im back to the vw seen with finally a golf mk4 4motion 2.8 v6. Some of you know i was looking for one for about 2 years! :lipsrsealed:

Its got 56k on the clock and is completely standard apart from a miltekresonated catback..

Sold my AGU gti after 4 years then took a break with a honda civic  :lipsrsealed: now im backk :evil:

First job was to get a new coolant bottle in as the one in there was just filthy :lipsrsealed:  :grin:

Next was time to get a new headunit in. As the gamma unit just does not do it for me. Had my alpine in for a few days ..

I felt that the hole needs to be filled so took out the alpine and useless cubby hole and replaced with a kenwood double din unit which matches the mk4 dash lights nicely and finishes it off :cool:

Will have daylight shot later on. Have some fli underground speakers lying around too but aint got the time to fit them yet :sad:

Next i just had to do something about the horrible wood trim. So i sourced my self some brushed alluminium vinyl. striped out all the interior parts an tried getting close as i could to the r32 look.

This was my first time ever doing this so was a bit spectical  :lipsrsealed:

Started with side strips as they looked fairly simple.

Then slowly made a go on the other bits after a very good outcome. It turned out to be very easy to do :smiley:

After succesfull outcome with centre console  i made start on the ashtray which was a fookin pain to do but got there after 3 attempts ..

Have orderd some euro number plate surrounds and legall dubmiester pressed plates.

Had red poly bushes fitted week ago at MIDLANDVW. Sorry no pics as have to stay in waiting area while poly bushes where being fitted :sad:

Awesome place and great guys there. Very happy with the feeling of the car now feels more stiff without the nasty vibration the yellow poly bushes give. Also got news that my drivers cv joint is knocking and the drivers brake disc is fooked. So better get saving :sad:

Im going to get the middle box removed from the resonated miltek cat back as its just too quiet even with the awesome v6 engine sound. So will get the box removed to get a nice grunt :evil:

Looking at also creating my own induction kit by using pipercross cone filter and creating a heat shield. Future plans.

Put some interior leds in today. Just need wait for the rear t5 bulbs to come and get them in.. I believe i will have to mod the t5 bulbs to get them in the rear interior reading lights.

got my rear led interior t5 bulbs finally. And managed to find a direct replacment. No cutting the bulb surround job :cool: interior lights all done now .. Need bora vents :lipsrsealed:

Got full set brand new tyres fitted too. There just budget autorun tyres. Better then the mix and match  bold tyres that where on the car :grin:

Had some bad news with a diagnosed rear binding caliper :cry: was causing a nasty grind when pulling away and was kiling my mpg. Gave me an excuse to just get the brakes sorted. So the
Chaps at midland vw fitted some front brake discs, a new rear caliper and brake pads all around

Stopping power is awesome now and feel much safer :grin:

Got the resonated middle box removed from the miltek catback that was on the car. Sounds perfect now nice deep down. Pipercross induction kit in the works now :cool:

Finally got rid that crappy wood gear knob. :lipsrsealed: ii was thinking go oem or go for aftermarket stuff. Decided have a change and got myself a richbrook gear knob. Very happy with the oem fitment and feels awesome  :cool:

Put some kenwood 4 way 6 x9 in too. And got myself some fli 3 way front door speakers. Audio upgrade is a must from shi ty stock speakers :cool: will be hunting a alpine amp soon :lipsrsealed:

Also while doing this noticed the lower part the trim around the gear knob is broken :angry:  so will try source a new one now

Got diesel battery box fitted as the new bosch battery i got was not fitting in th standard small battery box :angry:

Battery was sitin like above for about 2 weeks :lipsrsealed: engine bay looked well untidy.

Soured a larger diesel battery box and happy chap now. Engine bay looks clean and covered again :cool:

Tinted side repeaters with some etech tint spray. Come out perfectly and light shines through fine :cool:

Should also had an update for the grill and badges but due to 3m carbon fibre vinyl still not arriving my plans have been foiled :angry:

Still sprayed the spare grill i had in matt black. Also sanded down and sprayed the backing of the rear badge in reflex silver will be carbon wraping front badge and rear vw badge :wink:

Finally got the carbon vinyl. Have to say it was not as easy to work with as the brushed alluminium stuff i used :embarrassed: still after a long battle got there in the end. Will be adding a coat of laquer to make the carbon wrap last :wink:

Picked up some original santa monicas. Went for diy refurb only to find the bolts on the alloy wheel.. for decoration i believe are fookin plastic :angry: so ordered a spline set to try and help me get them off. Have only managed sand down one alloy :cry:

Still need laquer. And im trying to source replacing bolts which go around the alloy. Fookin pain to find as the size of the originals does not exist anywhere and speedline who made the alloys have even no idea on replacements :angry:

i just used some speaker wire i had lying around :wink:

i conected passenger vent to centre vent then bridged wires from there to drivers side too.

just get your power from the dimmer switch.brown for earth and blue/grey for illumination  :wink:

I never used the conectors. Just twisted wires around each other and put insulated tape around them.

You dont HAVE to use connectors just makes it more plug and play if you do :wink:

Do your bora vents have the wires coming out back them to a black plug? This might help if you want to use connectors and make a oem loom..

Got a few fault codes im trying to get the bottom off...after much swearing bleeding screaming and cutting myself.. i managed to clean the throttle body.. and so far the 16891 one has not come back will check in few days tho :smiley:

got a smoke test done today by chris and found a leak on the pipe which holds the pcv valve, i think it is, 

35 quid from the stealers. Split was covered by a heat shied cover over the pipe..so would have never have seen it ..

Fingers crossed this solves it..have insulation tape over it for the moment while i wait for the pipe to come in

Had to reconect wires for fogs and high beams and removed the oem cold air feed cover around the passenger headlight..will be fitting a proper cold air feed pipe.. forgot to get cable ties :angry:

Picked up a 4mo rear valance and a lower s3 strut brace :cool:

Not so sure on fitting the lower brace..so may just flog it... the valance will be colour coded then put on the car :smiley:

I think its more use on a fwd tho suposse to mine.. had a spin in my mates bora 4mo with strut fitted and honestly could not tell the difference..i had to pop my head under the car to see if we fitted it properly.. iv stuck mine up on the bay now..will spend the money towards some r32 arbs and suspension :grin:

Have a very bad knocking when i brake hard.. cv boot is fooked so fingers crossed it is just that.. started doing it this morning :cry: got booked in on the 25th to get it sorted

Got some tt bushes ordered too .. loads creaks and knocks turning up now so will be replacing all bushes slowly

Another good job by the lads at midland vw..tt wishbone bushes and cv boot sorted.. car feels planted again no knocking or annoying creaks..well happy.. will pop over to get the bora clocks coded in when have the cash :smiley:
