me again with troubles once again! last couple of days ive had overheating problems, which when going over 60 mph it rises over 90 degrees. as soon as it hits 100 degrees ive pulled over with the car still running as i dont want to risk warping the head, and it goes back down to 90 degrees now im pretty sure its the water pump, but i havnt managed to see the fan working yet so will check fuses tomorrow.
my main question is though because the water in the header tank has been getting hot and rising there seems to be a leak coming out of the side of the header tank the area in the red box, which is like a little tab which looks like it can be taken off, is this normal?

any help will be great thanks!

Yep that's the overflow.... It pours out o there if you keep filling it over the max.
Be sure to top it back up when cold!!
Fans must be working if it cools down when stationary an think the way to test if pump is working is undo the top small return hose on top of the expansion tank and see if the water is circulating

okay that's what i thought, yeah kept it topped up each time i stopped to get it home without hitting over 100 degree, well since ive had the car ive never actually seen or herd the fan come on when sat stationary and at 90 degrees i shall have a good look over it tomorrow and change the pump and belt if it appears to be the problem. THANKS again rio!
