Really sorry to hear that. There's some sh1tes out there. >:( >:(
Can you get it sorted with Insurance or are you getting it fixed yourself?

Bad luck.
Have fun with vacuum cleaner. I left my last car outside a pub for 5 minutes and accidently left an expensive brand new mobile in it. Spent the next two years finding glass in the car.
If its the front quarter window I'm assuming the bits of glass wont go into the door itself. Irritated the F out of me to close a door and to hear the glass rattle at the bottom for weeks.

I am sorry to hear about your trouble dinky. Its a pain in the arse and the little scums need shooting.
I went to a paintball day out at work at campaign in wisley. Parked in the designated car park and went to have fun, whilst this was going on some little toe rags were doing every single car in the car park, they had a free run and did the cars without anything in them just for spite.
I got my rear offside door glass broken and thought I would phone auto windscreens as I get it done for ?50 on my policy. Bad mistake. the glass didnt fit properly, he ripped my door panel and broke my electric window switch getting it all apart, and he said he would be there on the monday and turned up on wednesday as I was leaving work. Also I would have to pay for the job even though he would order another glass panel.
In the end and for the sake of my sanity I e-mailed a vw breaker and got a door glass with the green tint delivered next day for about ?30 I think. the glass was ?17 + packing and stuff. fitted it myself on the sunday.
This company is one of the good guys out there.

The scum that break into cars really do need fingers cutting off - If I was in charge of crime and punishment I would proper draconian on their ass.
I had mine broken into about 4 months ago, when parked on my drive, which is overlooked by 6 houses. They were either very brave or very stupid.
They started by ramming something down the side of the door handle to try and prise the whole door handle assembly out (they had obviously read that this was a weak spot on Mk I/II's and thought VW hadn't changed anything in 25 years).
With that not working, they then moved onto the boot, and tried exactly the same. When this didn't work they attacked both rear 3/4's, trying to lever the whole window assembly out of the car (on both sides!). This didn't work, but they did manage to leave approximately 10 dents on each quarter panel all the way round the window, where they were obviously levering against the car with a screwdriver.
Finally they decided they'd break a window, at which point the alarm did it stuff (finally). They ran off empty handed and my insurance company was handed a repair bill for a few quid shy of ?3k.
More importantly I was without my car for 4 weeks, which was the hardest thing to swallow. I have now removed the one (small) sticker I had advertising I had some quality stereo gear in the gear, never play my stereo loud anywhere near my house, and I always drive fast enough to ensure I'm not followed home (great excuse!!)

Agreed. when they do catch the little sods they never get punished. the victim is never the car owner who has worked hard for what they have, its the little b'stard who broke in. you would think enough is enough when they have 30-40 convictions to their name.

I complained that much that they cops sent a Scene's of crime unit out and they finger-printed the whole car - apparently they don't normally send a unit at all, but the thieves made such an effort to get in, they deemed it worth it.
The police found naff all.
From what the woman said, I think they would be happier if the victim played judge, jury and excecutioner, because the police are just as fcuked off with the punishment these scum are given as we are, and they would love to see them get a good hiding.

Jesus s11eps, that is well bad :o! I was quite shocked by our police cos they came out about 2 n half hours after it had happened to check me car n take details n a finger-print lass was there the next day at 9.00am, i was well pleased with them like!
Got me window fixed by RAC for ?50, came a day after i phoned cos they had to order in the glass n done a spot on job, plus i got a 3yr warranty n a wiper check! He took my door panel off n got all the glass out cos there were holes where the window was so some had slipped in the door!
I also took me seats out n lifted the carpet so hopefully have got all the glass, still need to fix me dash like cos its a bit wobbly.
I HATE THE LOT OF THEM!!!
Cheers lads!

Dinky > Really loving the colour of your car, I really wish I'd held out for one that colour now :'( :'(
Wanna swap for a white one! ;) - Else what make r ur wheels?
-
I have to sympathise with you there - I am paranoid about leaving my car anywhere, (its usually kept under armed guard!!) especially after a friend had their Polo broken into twice in a week - there was nothing in it the second time!
At least there is one advantage to getting old - cheaper insurance for fully comp! :-\
-
Hi!
Yeah it is a lush colour like n those wheel so set her off! There are 17" blue lenzo evo II! She'll look even better when i start modding her up! ;) I have to admit though that ur cabrio is canny too-even if it is white! ;)
Adam i've still got a long way to go yet though before u can call me old! ;)
