Guessing you are running std Halogen headlights which I believe houses H7 bulbs.
Osram Nightbreakers seem to get good reviews and what I am considering as an upgrade as the std bulbs are literally awful.
-
Sorry forgot to say, the error free issue only comes when you start looking at LED. the link I added allows you to enter your cars details and then gives you all options. I used it yesterday to sort my mates Leon FR out yesterday.

I was looking at replacing my H7 headlight bulbs with:
H7 Philips X-treme Vision +100% Headlight Bulbs.
You can pick them up for £20 from Amazon (£39.99 from Autobulbs direct).
Any idea how easy they are to replace? It looks pretty tight at the back of the headlight.

Fitted mine with Osram Nightbreakers years ago. £15 on Amazon
Great bulb, nice white light and a huge improvement over the standard H7 bulbs. Would definitely recommend them.
Very easy to fit. It looks tight but I managed to get my chunky hands in there and get the job done in a matter of minutes.
Just remove the rear rubber cap, reach in, grab the fitting and twist/pull, take bulb out and replace with new one (don't touch the bulbs glass casing).

I have a set of the Philips Bulevision ultra H7's they burn at 4000k they are not blue at all but a really crisp white.i had a set of the Osrams they project the light a little better but are still pretty yellow. I have been really pleased with the Philips ones had them for 12 months now.
If its the white look it got to be the Philips i think.
-
I think Philips also do an ultra white sidelight bulb, think i got mine free when i brought the H7's

I've just fitted a set of Osram Nightbreakers for main beam and Phillips Blue Vision parking lights to my old Passat. They are much better than the previous standard bulbs, but still quite yellow compared to the bi-xenon lamps. Having said that, they do look a closer colour match the further you are away from the car.

If you DRLs turn off when you turn your parking/headlights on, the colour match won't be such an issue.

I'd gathered that  Yes Nightbreakers will fit stock halogen headlights. Only dip beam tho'. I don't know of any upgrade bulb for the main beam / DRL lamp.
-
ha ha ha , iv put my reg into some bulb web site and it says main beam h7 , dipped beam h7 and side lights 501, does that mean i need 2 sets of h7 or does one do both
-
Main beam is a H15 bulb. It's twin filament. One for 55W for main beam and a 15W one for the DRL.
-
I was under he impression it was an H7 in both lama too...will need to check from what Dubber has said :undecided:
-
Main beam on halogens are definately as mentioned H15 twin fillament , no aftermarket ones available. Ive been looking for ages and noboby makes H15 upgrades such a shame as they are so yellow.
-
i disabled my DRL's as i thought they looked crap.
i really must get round to upgrading the main/dipped bulb as the lights are pretty bloody poor
-
oh god well im lost the web sites all say h7 lol
-
H7's are your headlight bulbs, W5W are your sidelight bulbs both of which can be upgraded, your factory DRL's are H15 which no-one makes an upgrade for so just turn them off (tells you how in the manual).
-
ye switched the drl s off hen i fitted the led drl , so do i need 2 sets of h7 s
-
No mate, just one pair. 8)

I have a pair of Philips BlueVision Ultra H7 , like these (http://www.powerbulbs.com/product/philips-blue-vision-ultra-h7-499-hid-car-headlight-bulbs)
I was using these before I did the Xenon retrofit and found them to be very good.
You can have them for £10 if you want them.
-
They are the same as i have, definately the best i could find for a good crisp white light.
