Title: MIJ Exhausts
Post by: beppe2672 on 27 December 2012, 14:09
Hey guys, been doing a bit of hunting for a new exhaust and came across these guys, been quoted £560 for a full custom turbo back system with a high flow sports cat. I was considering going for another blue flame system like I had on my edition 30, but with this being around 300 quid cheaper I'm wondering if any of you guys had any reviews from MIJ or can you recommend any alternatives. Specifically their midsport system. I'm after something that is quiet, will pass an mot, does not require a different rear valence, but still gives decent flow. The car is a 1999 agu.

Custom ftw. Not heard them mate but that is a good quote. Go for it .. take it comes with warranty as most exhaust places give out

Lifetime guarantee apparently! They'll even refund 25 quid for fuel to get there!

i was qouted the same by them and apparantly its built onto the car and and all the usual mandrel bending by a computer etc etc, the thing is though you can buy a magna flow cat 200pci (or waterever its called) for £30, the ebay turbo back system for about £220 and get a steel worker to weld in the cat for about £25-50, then just fit the system yourself, saving yourself a couple hundred  :undecided:

I think I'll be avoiding those guys then. I've been tempted by the ebay 3" system, but the amazingly low price has left me a bit skeptical. I've learnt that you usually get what you pay for.

I had a nice stainless manifold on my old B16 which was cracked, I took it to MIJ and it looked like a 6 year old had repaired it. John Ashley is better a few friends have has exhausts there, the young kid there is sh!t hot at welding.

(Personally id get a 3" ebay exhaust and have a sports cat welded in)
