im getting the 0588 drivers igniter resistance too high
i just had a look for this connector that seems to often cause this. im not sure if im looking in the correct place lol
does it require the removal of the seat, or is under the plastic trunking running along the inside of the car??
also reading bout the connection at the steering wheel where dirt and stuff make a bad connection. is it worth spraying electrical connection cleaner down into that gap??
sorry if this a daft one

I believe by 'igniter' they mean the actual circuit for the airbag (i.e. steering wheel end of it). You'd probably need to take the steering wheel off to get to the connector to clean it effectively. If it's anything like a passat then there will be a ribbon/coil thing to let the airbag stay connected when the wheel turns, that may be damaged/split I guess. I'm not familiar with the loom layout for that in the Golf, so I cant comment what other weak points there may be.
